Former Commissioner Lopp Dies Wednesday

   George W. Lopp, Jr., former Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for the City of Lawrenceburg, passed away Wednesday at his home.

   A native of Lawrence County and retired from the United States Postal Service, Lopp, age 78, was a member of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge, and Mars Hill Baptist Church. He served for many years as Youth Center Director.

   Lopp was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanetta Ramsey Lopp. Survivors include daughter Shirley Moore and sons Stan and Bert Lopp, all of Lawrenceburg. Two grandchildren, one step grandchild and one great grandchild also survive.

   Funeral services were conducted Friday at Neal Funeral Home.
